These heatsinks, weighing in at over a half pound each, will keep your strips running cooler and make them last longer. You can attach the strips to them with heatsink plaster, thermal tape, or however you like. The heat is transferred much better when you do use some type of interface. Some folks will tell you that black heatsinks will automatically do a better job cooling. What they are referring to is called emissivity in thermodynamics. Will black anodize have a higher emissivity than clear anodize? Yes, but not much. The emissivity of black anodize is about 0.86 compared to about 0.83 for clear. Heatsinks are anodized and dyed black for looks and corrosion resistance, not because it provides much useful improvement in cooling. And, when you factor in that the black heatsinks they have weigh in at a mere 5.5oz(over 30% less than these), it's a no brainer to see these will cool your light better. With these, as seen in the pics, it is very easy to build a frame out of simple angle aluminum(not included).
NOTE: ALL HEATSINKS OR ANYTHING YOU USE FOR THAT PURPOSE WILL DO A MUCH BETTER JOB WITH A LITTLE BIT OF AIRFLOW OVER THEM/IT.
